HENRY COUNTY: After being found GUILTY on December 4, 2024 by a jury of 12 in Henry County Alabama, Jerry Temples of Shorterville was sentenced.
Sentencing occured this past Friday in Henry County Circuit Court before 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Butch Binford.
On December 29, 2022 Temples was arrested and charged with Child Abuse and Sexual Abuse. After a trial on December 4, 2024, the jury found Jerry Temples GUILTY of Child Abuse. The allegations against Temples that he threw the 14 year old female “off back porch, striking her in the face, picking her up by the hair, slamming her on the ground, pulling her back in the house and grabbing her by the throat”. A jury of 12 men and women found Jerry Temples GUILTY.
Temples was also charged with Sexual Abuse. A jury of 12 aquitted Temples of that charge.
The Sexual Abuse charge, a class C felony.
On Friday Judge Binford Sentenced Jerry Temples to serve in the Alabama Department of Corrections for one year and one day ( which means day for day in Alabama Department of Corrections ), followed by three years of supervised probation. Judge Binford ordered Jerry Temples in immediate custody of the Henry County Sheriff.
Jerry Temples will wait in the Henry County Jail to be transferred to the Alabama Department of Corrections, prison, where he will serve the one year and one day in custody.
A brave 14 year old girl when this journey began stuck to her testimony which resulted in the conviciton by 12 men and women of Henry County Alabama.
