MONTGOMERY:     Well in Montgomery Alabama, the Capital City of the State of Alabama, this past weekend two people dead, 12 injured from gunfire, 5 with life threatening injuries.

“Alabamians lost their lives at the hands of thugs in downtown Montgomery this weekend,” Alabama Governor Kay Ivey said.

According to some news outlets Governor Kay Ivey called the Mayor of Montgomery who did not take her call or return her call. The Montgomery Mayor said one reason for the problem is the Governor and Alabama Legislature which changed the laws on possession of firearms.

In Birmingham, I guess the citizens are not Alabamians. Gunfire deaths happen constantly in Birmingham. And the only thing that Alabama Governor Kay Ivey and Alabama Attorney Geenral Steve Marshall has done is assemble a task force on electronic bingo. NO TASK FORCE ON VIOLENT CRIME.

And the Attorney General claims he is the top law enforcement officer of the State of Alabama. I disagree. The TOP law enforcement officer is the Sheriff of a county. The Attorney General is the top prosecutor, and no law degree is required.

Folks, here is my point. In Montgomery a man testified in court in Montgomery County, walked out of the courthouse and was gunned down in the street in front of the Montgomery County Courthouse. Just blocks from the Governor and Attorney General Office. In Jefferson County, just three months into office as Sheriff, the Attorney General was ordering the new Sheriff, who was black and defeated a 5 term white man who had been Sheriff, to raid the bingo places in Jefferson County. The new Sheriff, Pettway. said NO, he was more concerned with drugs and violent crime then electronic bingo. So then Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, Alabama Governor and ALEA put together a task force and raided the bingo places. Yes, the Sheriff borther had a bingo place, he filed suit against the Attorney General and the courts ruled in favor of the Sheriff’s brother.

But no task force was ever developed by the Attorney General, Governor or ALEA to tackle the violent crime in Birmingham.

“Alabamians lost their lives at the hands of thugs in downtown Montgomery this weekend,” Ivey said. Well said Governor, how many have been killed in Birmingham and you have done N O T H I N G!!!

So politicians amaze me. There is something about when they take office the oxygen gets sucked from their brain and it stops functioning.

If ya’ll can not get it under control, let me provide you with some names:   Former Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes which was screwed by ALEA; Former Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish; Dothan Police Chief Will Benny; Dothan Police Major Will Glover; some other members of Dothan Police Department; Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza; Houston County Sheriff Captain Tony Turner; Houston County Sheriff Captain Donnovan Arias; Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum; Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship; Retired Dothan Police Lt. Duane Herring; Daleville Police Chief John Crawford; and several within ALEA of which I will not name because I know this article offends ya’ll. And I can name many more who are capable of leading the fight. And I will probably catch heat and be blasted because I am calling ya’ll ( Governor/Attorney General/ALEA ) out.

Well Governor, this is not the first time. But you focus on electronic bingo which has not killed anyone. But the alcohol sold by the State of Alabama has killed more people. And the State of Alabama is the ONLY VENDOR of liquor in the State of Alabama. And you indicate in comments, the alochol sold by the State of Alabama possibly played a factor in these shootings.

I just shake my head.
