OPELIKA AL:    Wiregrass Coroner’s, Deputy Coroner’s and a Dale County Sheriff Investigator travel to Opelika for a one day training on Sudden Unexpected  Infant Death Investigation.

The training was presented by Shelby County, Alabama, Coroner Lina Evans who has been named the 2026 Coroner of the Year by the International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners. Evans is President of the Alabama Coroner’s Association.

Steve Brown, Houston County Coroner Elect Chief Deputy Coroner Haisten Murphy, Houston County Coroner Elect Kendal Glover, Deputy Coroner for Houston, Henry and Dale County Rickey Stokes.

The training scheduled from 8 AM to 5 PM was hosted by Valor and Lee County Coroner’s Office. The one day training taught Coroner’s and law enforcement what to look for in the investigation of death of infants.
