
TAYLOR: 9:53 PM Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Taylor Volunteer Fire, Rehobeth Fire – Rescue and Bay Springs Volunteer Fire to Taylor Assembly of God on Rice Road. Reports to Houston County 911 the cross on the front of the church was on fire. Houston County Sheriff Deputies dispatched and on the scene.
When the first fire engine arrived they reported smoke and flames visible on the front of the church and this is a workng structure fire. A water source has been established. By 10:03 PM Rehobeth Fire Chief Nick Floyd announced water on the fire. There is an offensive attack on the fire.
10:10 PM Bay Springs Volunteer Fire Engine on the scene.
10:11 PM Fireman have made access to overhead, very minumum fire in overhead.
10:12 PM Rehobeth Fire Chief Nick Floyd advised any fireman needing relief he had fireman dressed out and ready if needed.
10:44 PM Fireman getting fire under control and hitting hot spots. No smoke coming from structure, some from the cross on front of the strucutre. Temp is 80 – 90 degrees.
The quick response and attack was by paid Rehobeth Fireman and Volunteer Fireman in Taylor and Bay Springs. And great vision byTaylor’s former Mayor Billy Snell in getting Rehobeth EMS with a truck at Taylor Volunteer Fire Station.
