Traffic signals to be removed around courthouse in Abbeville
ABBEVILLE, Ala. – As part of an ongoing Henry County project around the Henry County courthouse in Abbeville, some intersections with traffic signals will be modified to stop signs.
The following intersections will be modified:
1. Washington Street (SR-10) and Kirkland Street will be modified to an all-way stop.
2. Williams Street and Kirkland Street will be modified to an all-way stop.
3. Washington Street (SR-10) and Doswell Street will be modified to a side street stop where Doswell Street will have to stop but Washington Street (SR-10) will have the right-of-way.
The traffic signals will be put into a flashing mode and stop signs will be installed beginning Monday, July 6. On Monday, July 13, crews will begin removing the signals.
All work is weather dependent and could be delayed.
Drivers should expect delays, plan accordingly, and be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.
