The Covington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted on an active arrest warrant tied to a Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) violation.
Authorities say 53-year-old Christopher Lee Johns is wanted for failing to comply with SORNA requirements. The warrant was issued by the sheriff’s office.
Johns is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. Deputies say he was last known to be homeless in the Andalusia area.
Investigators believe Johns is aware of the warrant and may be attempting to avoid law enforcement.
The sheriff’s office urges the public not to approach or attempt to detain him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Covington County Sheriff’s Office at 334-428-2641 or call the non-emergency E-911 line at 334-427-4911.
