BARBOUR – PIKE COUNTY: In the final hours of Friday, 11:57 PM, an ALEA – Trooper went to make a traffic stop in Barbour County. The driver of the vehicle made a conscious decision not to stop and fled instead.
The chase went from Barbour County into Pike County.
The driver of the vehicle wrecked in a single vehicle accident. It claimed the driver’s life and the life of three passengers in the vehicle. The driver, Tykevious D. Russaw, age 27, of Eufaula lost his life because he refused to stop. Russaw was reported to be driving a 2022 Hyundai Elantra. Russaw left the road and struck a tree.
The other three victims of which Russaw’s driving and failure to stop for the law enforcement officer are identified as: Robert D. Hall, age 27 of Clayton, and 17 year Russaw Hall. Both Hall’s were ejected from the vehicle. Also Quamay R. Richardson, age 24, of Clayton lost his life in the senseless actions of Russaw.
Russaw has a criminal history involving drugs.
The crash occured about 11:57 PM on Friday. The accident occured on Pike County Road 6628 near Pike County Road 6627, approximately nine miles east of Banks.
Pike County Coroner Jennifer Ventress responded to the scene of the accident.
