HOUSTON COUNTY: Recently Rev. Ricky Plummer made a post on his family FACEBOOK being critical of Houston County Commission Chairman Brandon Shoupe over the handling of the Chattahoochee State Park issue. Which resulted in Houston County Commission Chairman Brandon Shoupe in essence calling Rev. Ricky Plummer a liar.
Rev. Ricky Plummer had requested to be privileges of the floor of today’s Houston County Commission Administrative Meeting.
This morning RSN was physically present at the Houston County Commission Administrative Meeting. Chairman Brandon Shoupe, all Houston County Commissioners, Commission candidate Chris Love and Ashley Enfinger were present. No where in the slim crowd was Rev. Ricky Plummer. The meeting lasted 4 minutes and adjourned.
It is my understanding there was a “secret” meeting “behind” closed doors on Wednesday ( the normal prayer meeting day ) between Rev. Ricky Plummer, Houston County Commission Chairman Brandon Shoupe, D2 Commissioner Tracy Adams and someone who was the mediator.
Whatever was discussed in the secret meeting behind closed doors apparently has resulted in Rev. Ricky Plummer not appearing for privileges of the floor and his scraping his family FACEBOOK page of his post calling out Houston County Commission Chairman Brandon Shoupe.
Plummer has ked the commission before for Chattahoochee State Park, some 600 acres, for some of it for a skeet shooting range. A popular sport where a lot of people participate and is a economic boost to the local economy. People from here have driven to Ohio to participate in skeet shooting events. One young man who lives in Houston County got an almost a full 4 year scholarship for college for his participation in the skeet shooting. A larger event than most people know of who gives the youth many opportunities in life.
The Houston County Commission has no lease for the Chattahoochee State Park, some 600 acres. The lease is a five year lease for $ 10.00 from the State of Alabama.
In addition to the request of Rev. Ricky Plummer for skeet shooting, Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza had asked about locating an Alabama Children’s Home for girls and boys on the property. But D2 Commissioner Tracy Adams was not in favor of that because he promised the park being open.
In Chairman Brandon Shoupe’s challenge on Facebook calling out Rev. Ricky Plummer’s honesty, Shoupe said the “commission” decided against renewing the lease on the property.
Well … (1) no doubt what Rev. Ricky Plummer posted n his family facebook
(2) no doubt what Chairman Brandon Shoupe said in his FACEBOOK post calling out Rev. Ricky Plummer in what he had posted
(3) no doubt that d2 Commissioner Tracy Adams made that a campaign promise when he initially ran for Houston County Commissioner
(4) no doubt the Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza asked about locating the Alabama Sheriff Boys and Girls Ranch home on that property
(5) no doubt that Houston County has no lease on the property since January 2025 which was for only $ 10.00 for five years – from the State of Alabama
(6) no doubt that Rev. Ricky Plummer was going to be at the Houston County Commission Administrative Meeting to address the commission and was AWOL!
What we have doubt in: Where is the $ 300,000.00 both Shoupe and Plummer has referred to? What about the campaign promise of re-opening the park? When was the open discussion by the commission about the property – can someone produce me the minutes of that meeting? Explain please, the closed door meeting between Plummer, Adams, Shoupe and the mediator.
Now you know…that I know… that we know !!!
