ASHFORD: When grants are applied for it takes time, sometimes a couple of years, for approval and implementation of those grants.
Work is ongoing in downtown Ashford as a result of a grant two years ago. The sidewalk construction is underway with new sidewalks and curbing. Houston County will be working on the roadway when the sidewalk and curbing is complete, lowering some of the roadway in front of the sidewalk to repair some drainage issues.
The work is making downtown Ashford look good and fresher.
