DOTHAN:       It was 24 years ago, September 11, 2001 at 8:26 AM in the first attack of the World Trade Center in New York.

The second attack was at 9:03 AM. Commercial jets hijacked by al-Qaddafi terrorist flew into both of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York. It took 42 minutes on one tower and 56 minutes on the second tower to collapse. Taking the lives of 2,977 people.

Of those killed, 343 firefighters, 82 law enforcement officers, 37 port authority police officers, 55 other law enforcement officers.

Today, September 6, 2025, presented by Dothan Fire Department, the WIREGRASS 9/11 MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB.

CLIMB – HONOR – REMEMBER

Members of Dothan Fire Department, complete with turn out gear, any others who wanted to join, civilian, fireman or others, joined at Rip Hewes Stadium this morning to climb 100 stories to symbolize their heroic sacrifice.
