An Ozark man was arrested after police say he fired a gun during an argument with a neighbor.
According to jail records, David Jones, 61, was arrested Wednesday, January 21, and charged with attempted murder and certain person forbidden to possess a pistol.
Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 200 block of Evergreen Avenue shortly before 5:00 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities say Jones and a neighbor were involved in an argument when Jones allegedly produced a pistol, and the two exchanged gunfire. Investigators estimate approximately six shots were fired during the incident.
Police determined the neighbor was acting in self-defense and will not face charges.
No injuries were reported, and no property damage was reported.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
