Southeast Health has joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network, becoming the first hospital in Alabama to be part of the prestigious collaboration.

The partnership gives Southeast Health physicians access to Mayo Clinic’s world-renowned expertise, clinical resources, and advanced digital technologies while allowing patients to continue receiving care close to home.

“Being invited to join the Mayo Clinic Care Network is a tremendous honor for Southeast Health and a meaningful milestone for the patients and communities we serve,” said Rick Sutton, CEO of Southeast Health and president of the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. “This collaboration allows our physicians to access Mayo Clinic’s expertise while ensuring patients can continue receiving high-quality care right here at home.”

Through the network, Southeast Health healthcare professionals can combine their understanding of local patient needs with Mayo Clinic specialists when reviewing complex cases.

“We are pleased to welcome Southeast Health into the Mayo Clinic Care Network,” said Dr. Ryan Uitti, medical director of Mayo Clinic Platform. “This collaboration highlights their commitment to excellence and improving care for patients across this region.”

Membership provides Southeast Health providers access to several Mayo Clinic tools and services, including AskMayoExpert, a clinical reference tool covering hundreds of medical conditions; eConsults, which connect physicians with Mayo Clinic specialists for second opinions; and eBoards, live video conferences that allow medical teams to discuss complex cases with a Mayo Clinic panel.

Healthcare professionals will also have access to Mayo Clinic consulting services, educational resources for patients, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Southeast Health will remain an independent healthcare system while joining a global network of more than 45 healthcare organizations collaborating to improve patient care.

Southeast Health is an academic community-based health system serving residents in southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. The system includes a 420-bed medical center, a large network of primary and specialty care clinics, the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, and programs focused on improving health across the region.
