HEADLAND:     11:00 AM     Headland Police and Henry County Sheriff Department are on the scene of firearm assault at Greentree Apartments in Headland.

One person has been transported to Southeast Health by Headland Fire – Rescue. One person is deceased on the scene. Both Headland Fire – Rescue and Abbeville Fire – Rescue are on the scene and staged.

A large area of crime scene tape is up in many areas of the apartment complex.

Headland Police to include Chief Mark Jones, Henry County Sheriff Department to include Sheriff Eric Blankenship, Kinsey Police to include Chief Jim Mock, ALEA Trooper Spencer Adkinson and multiple Headland Police and Henry County Sheriff Deputies are on the scene.

Henry County Sheriff SRT Unit on the scene. They have hit an apartment where suspect(s) were possibly located. The SRT unit used flash bangs but suspect(s) was not present.

There is one person deceased on the scene. One person transported to Southeast Health. Possibly two suspects in the shooting. A vehicle which a BOLO was issued is on the scene with crime scene tape.

Dothan Police Crime Scene Tech’s have been requetsed and responding to assist in the investigation.

Chad Sowell, representing Headland Police Department, gave a brief statement in what has taken place so far. Henry County Coroner Derek Wright is on the scene.

One suspect is in custody at this time.

The schools were on lockdown due to the scene being near the scene. The schools have been taken off lockdown.

Columbia Police Chief and another Kinsey Police Officer is on the scene.
