DOTHAN: On Friday evening Dothan Police Chief Will Benny had Dothan Police Officers out in force on the streets.
In a strong enforcement action on the streets of Dothan, under the leadership of Dothan Police Patrol Captain Thomas Davis, the Dothan Police Patrol Division, while operating within the confines of the law and with respect to everyone’s right’s, had a very aggressive enforcement night.
Under the words of Retired Jackson County Florida Sheriff Lou Roberts, Jackson County had more problems and issues with the north/south corridor ( Highway 231 ) than the east/west corridor ( I-10 ). Spring break is beginning across the country so a lot of travelers through Dothan. The Panama City Beach Police Chief has announced zero tolerance. Dothan Police Chief Will Benny is just doing his job as the leader of Dothan Police Department. And he refuses to allow the streets of Dothan to get out of control.
In the aggressive enforcement action, the arrests for Dothan Police Department was 10 pages long this morning. The Dothan Police Patrol Division took numerous guns off the street and drugs off the street.
One Dothan Officer was assaulted by an offender that was being arrested. The officer was not seriously injured.
