GENEVA COUNTY:    10:29 AM.    Geneva County 911 dispatched Hartford Fire – Rescue and Geneva County Sheriff Department to Highnote Road at Hartford to a man who fell from a horse. Reports to 911 CPR was in progress and a man on a horse would meet responders at the road.

Survival Flight was auto launched by Geneva County 911. Slocomb Fire – Rescue was dispatched with the ATV.

On arrival of emergency units it was determined the man was deceased. Geneva County 911 contacted Geneva County Coroner Donny Adkinson. Geneva County 911 cancelled Survival Flight response.

Slocomb Fire – EMS are transporting officials to the location to victim is at. They will transport the victim to the roadway. Geneva County Deputy Coroner Chad Bright is on the scene.

Geneva County, AL — Jimmy Wayne Owen, age 79, of Westville, Florida, died as a result of injuries sustained in a horse-related accident. The incident occurred off Highnote Road in the Hartford area.

Emergency responders from Hartford EMS and Slocomb EMS, along with the Geneva County Sheriff’s Department and the Geneva County Coroner’s Office, responded to the scene.
