HENRY COUNTY: This past week Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship held a press conference concerning IGNITED 2026. Sheriff Blankenship was flanked by Russell County Sheriff and Montgomery County Sheriff, and representatives from the National Sheriff Association out of Washington D.C./Virginia.
This program operates on restricted pads that allows inmates to take advantage of edication courses while in the Henry County Jail. It allows them to study for a take their GED if they do not have one. Also gives them online education courses and get cetificates of completion.
This program has proven results to help stop repeat offenders, allowing them to gain a trade while in jail.
