TROY: Troy University has suspended its Pi Kappa Phi fraternity chapter and banned it from campus until Fall 2029, the university informed the chapter on Oct. 12.
The action follows an incident at the fraternity house on Thursday, Sept. 17. Police and emergency medical services were dispatched to the house around 11:00 p.m. A 22-year-old male pledge was treated at Troy Regional Medical Center and released the next day.
Under the suspension, members living in the fraternity house must move out by Oct. 26. The university said it will provide assistance with relocation.
This is not the first time the chapter has been disciplined. Pi Kappa Phi’s Troy chapter was previously suspended in 2013 following a hazing incident.
Sources did not specify the cause of the Sept. 17 incident.
