Mike Palmer and I are putting together a FREE youth softball clinic for girls ages 5-15. That is the city recreational ball age range. The season is about to start, and we are reminded every year of the need for better fundamentals. Our fastpitch softball organization, The Dothan Warriors, are partnering with Dothan Leisure Services to hold a fundamentals clinic this Sunday the 15th from 1-3 at James Oates Park.
My daughter, Kolbi Hall, is a junior at Dothan High School and a pitcher for the Dothan High softball team. I have been helping her with an idea and passion to help the underprivileged young players. We trip over softball equipment in my garage, but the reality is there is a number of young players who show up to practices without the right equipment because of financial reasons. Kolbi has started “Together We Play Sports” to help in this manner and manners like this. I will share flyers with you and more information and details. If there is anything you can do to help us spread the word we would greatly appreciate it. We have not or will not receive a dime from any of these ventures.
