The Enterprise Police Department continues its investigation into the disappearance of Genesis Reid, a 2-year-old girl who was reported missing around 3 a.m. Monday from her home on Apache Drive.
According to investigators, the child’s mother told police she went to check on Genesis and discovered she was not in the home. The mother told police the door to the residence was found open. As the investigation progressed, detectives conducted multiple interviews and determined the child had not been seen in several weeks.
Police confirmed Tuesday that the child’s mother, Adrienne Reid, is being detained for questioning. Enterprise Police are seeking information about Moriah, described as a Black female who frequented Levels Bar and Grille on Daleville Avenue in Enterprise as well as areas in Ozark. Police said if Moriah, or anyone who knows her, has any information or connection to Genesis or the child’s mother, they should contact authorities immediately. The missing child’s father and other relatives are cooperating fully with the investigation.
Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore said numerous local, state and federal agencies are involved in the investigation and search efforts, and he emphasized the strong support shown by the community.
“So many agencies are involved, and the community has poured out its love and care for our children,” Moore said. “They are here helping us search for any evidence to help find Genesis.”
A large, coordinated search operation is underway Tuesday. Moore said the search is being conducted using specific and strategic patterns to maintain the integrity of the scene.
“We have a large search party out today,” Moore said. “If you are not part of that party, we ask that you remain out of the search area. If you would like to assist when relief is needed, please contact the police department and offer your assistance.”
Chief Moore stressed that even information that may seem minor could be critical to the investigation.
“If you have any tips, you may think it is a small piece, but that small piece could be a huge part of a very large puzzle,” he said. “If you have any information on the whereabouts of Genesis, the last time you saw her, or even the last time you think you may have seen her, please contact us.”
Anyone with information related to Genesis Reid, including possible sightings, locations, or any detail that may assist investigators, is asked to contact the Enterprise Police Department at 334-347-2222.
Another update is expected to be provided after 4 p.m.
