FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The National Weather Service has projected temperatures to fall below freezing in our area next week. Temperatures for Tuesday and Wednesday morning are expected to reach the mid-20’s for several hours. In response these conditions, warming stations will be available, during the following times:
Warming Station Locations
300 West Main Street Dothan, Alabama 36301
This warming station will be operated by the Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (SEACH). SEACH is requesting volunteers to assist with operations.
1331 Metcalf Street Cottonwood, Alabama 36320
Meals and cots will be provided at both locations. Doors will lock each night at 9:00 pm for the safety of guests and volunteers. If you know of someone with sheltering needs or if you would like to volunteer at the First Baptist Church warming station, please contact the Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Agency at 334-794-9720. For additional information or community resources, please dial 2-1-1.
