HENRY: Henry County 911 dispatched Henry County Sheriff Deputies to a missing 2 year old child. ( Almost 3 years of age ).
The child was autistic and had gone missing from his residence on Henry County Road 32.
Henry County Sheriff Eric Blakenship, Henry County Sheriff Deputy Carlson and ALEA – Trooper Larry Sapp arrived on the scene very quickly. They spread out quickly.
Henry County Sheriff Carlson checked a culvert under the roadway about short distance from the child’s residence. Deputy Carlson spotted the child in the culvert. As the Deputy approached the child he ran. Before Deputy Carlson could reach the child the child reached water. Deputy Carlson went into the water after the child and pulled him out safely.
What could have ended bad, due to the Henry County 911 quick action, and the quick actions of Sheriff Blankenship, Deputy Carlson and ALEA Trooper Sapp, the child was found safe and returned to his parents.
NOTE: The mother was attentive to the child. However, he was able to push a window and escape from the house. When the mother was unable to locate quickly she did as she should and quickly called 911 and summoned help.
