MADRID:      01:19 AM      Houston County 911 sounded the multi department alarm at 1:19 AM this morning, structure fire, 104 Pine Street in Madrid.

A mobile home structure that was on fire when dispatched. Multiple Volunteer Fireman leaped from their beds and into action to attempt to save lives and property. On arrival to the scene it was announced a working fire. One that was to hot to safely enter.

Responding to the scene, Madid Volunteer Fire Department, Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Department, Hodgesville Volunteer Fire Department, Rehobeth Fire – Rescue, Cottonwood Rescue, and Houston County Sheriff Deputies. The residence was occupied and the resident died in the fire despite all of the efforts of the fireman attempting to save the residence.

The Alabama State Fire Marshall and Houston County Sheriff Department is conducting the investigation as to the cause of the fire. No foul play suspected.
