DOTHAN, Ala. — Forget the tricks and bring on the treats! Downtown Dothan is getting ready for a spook-tacular Saturday as BooFest 2026 takes over Porter Park with a full day of Halloween fun for the entire family.
The festivities are happening tomorrow, Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Families can expect a little bit of everything, from adorable costumes and spooky crafts to tasty food, live entertainment and enough Halloween excitement to make even a friendly ghost want to join the party.
More than 70 vendors will be ready to welcome visitors, hand out treats and offer plenty to explore. If all that trick-or-treating works up an appetite, head to the Boo Bites Zone, where 10 food trucks will be serving up delicious options. After all, Halloween candy is great, but sometimes you need something a little more substantial than a chocolate bar!
Youngsters can show off their Halloween creativity during the Kids’ Costume Contest at 11 a.m. Whether they’re dressed as superheroes, princesses, tiny monsters or something only a child’s imagination could dream up, the contest promises plenty of cuteness and costume fun.
At noon, the spotlight shifts to the Local Celebrity Pie Eating Contest. Forget fancy table manners — this is one competition where getting a little messy is part of the fun! Visitors can cheer on local personalities as they dig in and see who can handle the sweet challenge.
Live entertainment will keep the Halloween spirit going throughout the day, with performances featuring SEACT, Alabama Dance Works and Up To No Good.
Kids can also burn off some energy in the Kids’ Activity Zone, sponsored by D.R. Horton Greater Dothan-Troy, featuring inflatables and a rock climbing wall. Spooky crafts, face painting and additional activities will give little goblins and ghouls even more reasons to celebrate.
Whether your family comes dressed in Halloween costumes or simply ready for a fun day out, BooFest offers a chance to enjoy local entertainment, support area vendors and make memories together.
So grab those costumes, bring the kids, invite the grandparents and get ready for a Saturday filled with treats, laughter and Halloween magic.
BooFest 2026 takes place Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Porter Park in downtown Dothan. It’s free-spirited Halloween fun for the whole family — and the only thing scarier than the decorations might be watching your favorite local celebrity take on that pie-eating contest!
