Mrs. Dorothy Mayo Bell, age 76, a resident of Dothan, died on Thursday April 3, 2025 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Troy West officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to services. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Bell was born on November 7, 1948 in Pansey the daughter of Ernest B. Kirkland and Ressie Lee Gore Kirkland. She lived in Pansey and Madrid communities in her early years before moving to Dothan. Dorothy loved listening to her Gospel music, search word puzzle books and especially loved her grandchildren. She was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Billy James Mayo; second husband, Luvon Bell; two brothers, Earl and Eddie Jo Kirkland; two sisters, Maxine Crooms and Vicky Jacobs.
Survivors include: two daughters, Dori K. Long (Timothy), Daleville; Lori Toth (John), Dothan; three grandchildren, Billy James Crowder, Eric James Jones and Tracy Renae Jones; two sisters, Glenda Nobles, Dothan; Janice Hollingshed, Cottonwood; two brothers, Roy Kirkland, Madrid; Ray Kirkland, Dothan; several nieces and nephews.
