COWARTS – ASHFORD: Houston County 911 dispatched Ashford Rescue, Cowarts Volunteer Department, Houston County Sheriff Department and ALEA – Troopers to a two vehicle accident on Highway 84 East and Hatcher Road.There were reports of one vehicle overturned. The accident involved a Ashford Police Patrol unit.
On arrival both patients received leg injuries. It was thought the Ashford Police Officer had a broken leg but it was later determined it was not broken.
Ashford Police Chief Melvin Anderson, Gordon Police Chief Keith Gray. Kinsey Police all responded to assist.
Both patients were transported to Southeast Health by Ashford Rescue.
IN A LATER CALL
Houston County 911 dispatched Ashford Rescue, Ashford Fire, Houston County Sheriff Department to meet a private auto with a one year old child who had burns. The burns were reported to be over about of the body from a liquid that accidentally spilled on the child.
The preferred medical care for a burn patient is to fly them directly from the scene to a burn unit. The private auto met Ashford Rescue at the Inland Station on Highway 84 East in Ashford.
Survival Flight was unable to accept the flight. Enterprise Rescue Air Unit was able to accept the flight and responded. They landed next to the Inland Station. The child was treated and them flown directly from the scene to a burn unit.
