DOTHAN: Sometimes, one person’s gently used furniture or household items can make a big difference in someone else’s life. Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity is asking the community to consider donating items they no longer need, giving those belongings a second chance while helping support a meaningful mission.

From furniture and home décor to seasonal decorations, housewares and building materials, donations can help provide affordable options for local families while supporting Habitat for Humanity’s work to make safe, decent housing more accessible.

And here’s some good news for anyone who has been putting off cleaning out a spare room, garage or storage building: Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity offers free donation pickups!

Pickup service is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week, making it easier to give useful items a new home without having to haul them yourself.

Whether you have a couch that no longer fits your living room, home accessories you’ve packed away, or building materials left over from a project, your donation may be just what someone else needs.

Donating is also a wonderful way to reduce waste and keep usable items out of the landfill. Instead of letting good furniture and household goods collect dust, you can help turn them into something that benefits the community.

Every donation, big or small, is an opportunity to make a difference. What may be taking up space in your home could help another family create a comfortable place to call home.

Want to schedule a pickup?

Call Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity at 334-792-8453, extension 2, to ask about pickup arrangements and accepted donations.

The pickup service is free, and your generosity can help make a house feel a little more like home for someone in the Wiregrass.

Because sometimes, giving something a second life can help someone else begin a new chapter.
