BLUE SPRINGS…Mrs. Deborah Shehane Scott, a resident of Blue Springs, near Clio, passed away early Monday morning, March 2, 2026, peacefully at her home. She was 74.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, near Blue Springs, with Pastor Danny Rieben officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Scott, daughter of the late Ralph Shehane and Netestelle Shehane, was a native and lifelong resident of Blue Springs. She was a 1969 Graduate of Blue Springs High School where she was the Salutatorian. Mrs. Scott was employed as a banker for thirty-seven years and retired in 2016 from Wells Fargo in Midland City. She will always be remembered for her strong work ethic and how she loved her customers. Faith was an important part of her life, and she was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.
Surviving relatives include her husband loving husband of fifty-six years, Mitchell Scott; her son, Joery Scott (Tavia); her daughter, Jessica Scott Ivey; grandchildren, Sarabeth Scott, Trey Scott, River Scott, and Landyn Ivey; nine siblings; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Trey Scott, Landyn Ivey, Austin Johnson, Nathan Parr, Steve Hill, and Adian Hill.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Vitas Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Scott and to all of them during this difficult time. Their gentle presence and compassion brought comfort when it was needed most. They would also like to thank the nurses at Southeast Health Critical Care in Dothan for the support, patience, and dedication they showed throughout her care. In addition, the family is sincerely grateful to the members of Glad Tidings Assembly of God and Pine Level Baptist Church for surrounding them with prayers, encouragement, and steady support. Every act of kindness has meant more than words can say.
