HOUSTON COUNTY: Adam Glenn got a scholarshp for college because of Skeet Shooting. Adam was very involved with the Skeet Shooting.
In a recent Facebook post Rev, Ricky Plummer is and has been pushing for place to host skeet shooting competition which is a growing sport. And the acheivements made by those involved is futhering their education.
Houston County Commission Chairman Brandon Shoupe then took to Facebook and essentially called Rev. Ricky Plummer a liar. Plummer is pastor of more than 10 years of one of Dothan’s leading churches, Bethel Baptist Church. And one thing Rev. Ricky Plummer is, he is not a liar. But he will stand up for what he believes. And fighting for student’s like Adam is one thing that Rev. Plummer will do.
The above video was three years ago. Adam is a very bright young man who is very smart, well mannered and respectful. And Rev. Plummer had tried to get the Houston County Commission to allow some of Chattahochee State Park for the skeet shooting.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza had attempted to get some of the land for use of the Alabama Sheriff’s Boy’s and Girl’s ranch. To construct housing to allow children without parents be loved and cared for.
The Houston County Commission did not renew the lease on the park. Chairman Shoupe said the park never made money. But is government suppose to make money? Does the taxpayers of Houston County get their return on Houston County Commissioners making $ 33,000.00 a year plus cost of living raises? Does the taxpayers get a return on the $ 250.00 a month auto allowance paid to commissioners? Does Houston County get a return on 10 year vested retirments of county commissioners while Dothan Commission and Alabama Senators – Representatives are not in the retirement system? What return does the taxpayers of Houston County get for a Chairman salary of around $ 90,000.00 a year and in 10 years vevsted in the retirement system?
What does Houston County really do for the taxpayers? Check out the Houston County web site and review their agenda’s and minutes. And Houston County Commission Chairman Brandon Shoupe provides zero ducumentation to the public other than the one page agenda. And check out the finacial statements of Houston County since Chairman Culver retired abd comnpare the financial statements under Chairman Mark Culver’s tenure.
CHALLENGE TO HOUSTON COUNTY COMMISSION CHAIRMAN BRANDON SHOUPE – in all of your post compile the agendas for your meetings; provide a copy of the deposition of yourself and Sheriff Donald Valenza in the lawsuit you caused when you ignored Sheriff Valenza’s request to fix the Houston County Jail doors and a inmate got hurt who has now filed a federal lawsuit against Houston County.
Now that you found out commissioners could be personally liable you all of a sudden are so concerned about the jail … but you are a politician who just says things to futher yourself in politics … and calling out a long time Pastor and accuse him of misinformation!!!
