Emily Lee (Ferguson) Alsop

Emily Lee (Ferguson) Alsop, 89, a resident of Dothan, formerly of Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Bonifay Nursing Home & Rehab Center, following an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with Reverend Paul Whitfield officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing.

Emily was known for her generous hospitality, and at times opening their home to students, missionaries and friends. She will also be remembered by her gentle and compassionate heart. She was faithful, loving and kind to all.

She was preceded in death by her husband B. Kim Alsop and her grandson Kevin Alsop.

Survivors include her son Kim (Gloria) Alsop, daughter Sally (H. Craig) Gray, and son Scot (Dianne) Alsop. She has six living grandchildren, Jimmy Gray, Alisha Alsop (Bryan) See, Cole (Jennifer) Gray, Craig W. (Evie) Gray, Emily Gray (Paul) Whitfield and David Alsop. She has 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
