On Monday EMS Captain Candy Anderson and Operations Chief Brandon Hovey traveled to Lincoln, Alabama to pick up our new Type II AEV ambulance. This ambulance was obtained by a Rural Provider Equipment Grant through the Alabama Council of Emergency Medical Services Inc. We were awarded a total of $128,322 with a 75/25 match. We would like to thank the City of Slocomb for covering the $33,339 match and Southeast Alabama EMS Council for assisting us with obtaining this grant. We would also like to thank Wiregrass RC&D for awarding us $5,000 which will be going towards this ambulance. The funds for the Rural Provider Equipment Grant Program would not be possible if it was not for the support of our elected officials in the state of Alabama and Governor Kay Ivey. Finally we would like to thank U.S. Representative Barry Moore, State Senator Donnie Chesteen, and State Representative Jeff Sorrells for their support.
