TAYLOR: On November 3, 2025 within 45 minutes of taking the Oath of Office, incoming Taylor Mayor Robert Lamb terminated Taylor Police Chief James Brazier.
RSN learned that was incoming Taylor Mayor Robert Lamb’s common plan, scheme and design. The following meeting Brazier was before the Taylor City Council and stated he wanted to delay a hearing until his attorney was present.
Since then, NOTHING has been discussed in an open legal meeting before the Taylor City Council. And by law they must vote in an open meeting. So the Taylor Mayor’s official actions have not been affirmed by members of the Taylor City Council.
Last night on Shady Lane, which borders Dothan City Limits and Taylor City Limits, at about 8:35 PM, there were reports that a hispanic male assaulted a hispanic female and forced her in the car. Then reports the suspect pulled into Friendship Church which is inside the Taylor City Limits.
Houston County Sheriff Department and Dothan Police attempted to notify Taylor Police Department. Now, this was at about 8:35 PM. But guess what? NO TAYLOR POLICEMAN WAS ON DUTY!!!! When no one is on duty, and the unauthorized by Taylor City Council Acting Police Chief is a full time Deputy Sheriff in Geneva County who resigned as Samson Police Chief before becoming a Geneva County Sheriff Deputy. So he serves another master, Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms, first, then Taylor.
According to information to RSN, Taylor Mayor Robert Lamb has made the statement he has it under control. WRONG!!!! He does not because (1) while Mayor Elect reports are ( easily confirmed ) Robert Lamb made the statement he was going to terminate Taylor Police Chief James Brazier (2) within 45 minutes and first actions following the Oath of Office, Lamb did (3) the members of the Taylor City Council has never officially taken any action on Lamb’s termination (4) the Taylor City Council, lack of action, is Willful Neglect of Duty on the Council part (5) Lamb has posted on Facebook accepting applications for Taylor Police Chief which because the Taylor City Council has sit on their buttocks and no down anything, does Brazier have any right to back pay (6) When did City Council approve the Acting Police Chief (7) when did the Council approve accepting applications.
So if Taylor Mayor Robert Lamb state h”has it under control”, does he? The attorney might advise but the attorney is making probably, at least, $ 250.00 a hour so he probably wants Taylor to get a lawsuit. ( Whoever their attorney is because again one has not been hired under the new Robert Lamb administration ).
SOOOOO, this could be costly for the City of Taylor. The great financial condition that former Taylor Mayor Billy Snell left the City of Taylor in, $ 5 million in the bank, might soon be GONE!!! And then Rehobeth could annex Taylor into Rehobeth !!!!
And with no police officers on duty, why does Taylor even need a Police Department. Rehobeth and Taylor do not have a police department. Taylor is in Houston County and the Sheriff is Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the county and has to take over law enforcement duties, and ALEA – Troopers, well Taylor is in Alabama and they have to work the wrecks. Which they do in Rehobeth and Cowarts. So why does Taylor even need a police department. Mayor Robert Lamb is proving the Sheriff handles it anyway!!!
