DOTHAN- DALE COUNTY: Earlier today Dothan Police Lt. Jason Adkins located a murder suspect vehicle from Lowndes County Alabama. The vehicle and suspects were at the store at Murphy Mill Road and Highway 231 North.
Being seasoned law enforcement Lt. Adkins, and other Dothan Officers positioned themselves waiting for suspects to leave.
Once they left all officers got positioned, Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum and members of Dale County Sheriff Department were positioned, air support was in place, K-9’s were in place.
When the suspects left and all law enforcement positions were set the felony traffic stop was initiated between Target and Lowe’s North.
Some females, accompanied by children were detained and in custody.
Information was developed the main suspect was at Wellington Place Apartments on Mance Newton Road. This is in Dale County but in the City of Dothan.
The apartment was surrounded by Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum, members of Dale County Sheriff Department, Dothan Police, Dothan Police SRT, Dothan Police Major Will Glover and Houston County Sheriff Department.
Following an extended stand off and negotiations, the suspect peacefully exited the apartment following law enforcement commands. There were no injuries.
Lowndes County law enforcement is on the scene and further investigation is ongoing.
