PANAMA CITY:

A man convicted of killing a Panama City woman more than three decades ago is set to be executed Tuesday.

Mark Allen Geralds was found guilty of murder, armed robbery, burglary, and grand theft auto in connection with the 1989 killing of 29-year-old Tressa Pettibone at her Cove home.

Geralds, who had previously worked as a handyman for Pettibone, became a suspect after investigators discovered he had pawned jewelry containing traces of her blood.

According to court records, Pettibone’s 8-year-old son discovered her stabbed to death on the kitchen floor — a tragedy that sparked a lengthy legal battle and ultimately led to Geralds’ death sentence.
