DOTHAN: A message from Josh Chapman, candidate for District Four, Dothan Commission.
Josh Chapman is running for Dothan City Commission, District 4. Josh has been in Dothan since the Spring of 2015. He is married to Hannah (Warren) Chapman who was born and raised in Dothan, and who is a 2005 graduate of Northview High School. Josh and Hannah have two young boys, Mac (8) and Tully (6).
Josh is 38 years old. He has a degree in Civil Engineering, and was a licensed Professional Engineer for the first 10 years of his professional career. Three of those 10 years as an Engineer, Josh worked for the City of Dothan in the Engineering Services Division where he oversaw plat review, residential development review and management, managed the resurfacing budget each year, and many other duties within the Engineering Services Division. In 2021, Josh stepped away from Engineering to focus on a new passion of real estate investment. Josh owns and manages a portfolio of rental properties as well as owns a property management company. He is passionate about helping address the issues we face locally concerning affordable housing.
Josh, as well as his wife Hannah, has a servant’s heart. He has served on many non-profit boards and has been the chairman of many of the boards he has served on. Namely, he currently serves on the board at Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center where he is the immediate past Chairman, he previously served on the board at Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity where he served as Chairman for 2 years, he has been a Dothan Rotarian for 8 years where he has served on the board for 6 years and is the immediate past President of Dothan Rotary Club. His wife, Hannah, is the director for Dothan Meals on Wheels and serves on the board at Wiregrass Hope Group. Both Hannah and Josh lead Children’s Sunday School classes at their Church, and Josh also serves on multiple committees at their local Church.
Mr. Chapman has both the professional experience and the civic desire to be an effective City Commission in Dothan. He and his family care deeply about the future of Dothan, and he wants to serve all 72,000 citizens. Josh prides himself on being available. He wants to listen to all citizens which is why he is publicly giving out his telephone number. You can call or text Josh at 334-232-9455. He wants to hear your ideas, your questions, and the issues you are struggling with.
