WIREGRASS: Walmart is giving shoppers a new way to save by combining Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus into one membership for $120 a year, nearly $100 less than purchasing the two memberships separately.
The new membership brings together shopping, delivery, fuel discounts and entertainment benefits under one annual fee, offering customers more convenience and potential savings.
Benefits include access to Sam’s Club, free delivery from Walmart and Sam’s Club, and a choice of Peacock or Paramount+ streaming service. Members can also save 10 cents per gallon on gas at more than 17,000 participating stations and earn 2% Sam’s Cash on eligible purchases at Sam’s Club.
Walmart Inc. President and CEO John Furner said the combined membership is designed to give customers greater value while helping them save money and time.
Walmart said customers could otherwise spend nearly $400 annually on comparable retail, warehouse club and streaming services, depending on the memberships and services they choose.
The new offer also provides upgrade options for existing members. Walmart+ annual members can switch to the combined plan for an additional $22 per year. Sam’s Club members can upgrade to Sam’s Club Plus for an additional $60 per year, with Walmart+ included. Existing Sam’s Club Plus members can activate Walmart+ at no extra cost.
Customers who already pay for both Walmart+ and Sam’s Club memberships can link their accounts to access the combined benefits.
Walmart and Sam’s Club U.S. field associates will also receive the membership as part of their employee benefits.
For shoppers who regularly use both retailers, the new membership could provide a convenient way to combine everyday shopping benefits, fuel savings and entertainment while reducing annual membership costs.
