COTTONWOOD: 4:41 PM. The water in Cottonwood was out today, however, please note it WAS NOT the fault of the City of Cottonwood.
Private contractors, not for the City of Cottonwood, were laying fiber lines and accidentally struck water lines for the City of Cottonwood.
At 100 degree temperature, Cottonwood Mayor Van Granger along with the City of Cottonwood Water Department grabbed shovels, rolled their sleeves up, and worked on their Saturday getting water going.
Folks, that does not fall under the duties of Mayor. But Van Granger thinks a lot of Cottonwood and those that are served by Cottonwood water.
So when you go to the polls and vote for Mayor of Cottonwood, remember Van Granger. The purpose of this article is not to try and support him, it is because I was getting phone calls about the water. Then I found out the Mayor had a shovel in his hand working side by side with the water department to get the water going, well, it gave me greater respect for him.
Van Granger went above and beyond the call of duty at 100 degrees.
THANK YOU MAYOR.
