COLUMBIA:     4:48 PM     Houston County 911 dispatched a structure fire at 407 South Washington Street in Columbia. The initial 911 dispatch was smoke inside of residence.

Columbia Volunteer Fire, Webb Volunteer Fire Departmen, Kinsey Volunteer FIre  were dispatched.  Kinsey Police Sgt. Jason Waybright responded.

Columbia Police Chief was first on the scne and reported heavy smoke in kitchen and attic. On the arrival of the first fire engine company they reported flames visible out of the backside. Ashford Volunteer Fire was dispatched but was delayed briefly because of the train across the railroad tracks.

Ashford Rescue was dispatched to stand by.

This is a working fire.
