HOUSTON COUNTY:   6:03 PM     Houston County 911 dispatched Rehobeth Fire – Rescue, Hodgesville Volunteer Fire and Cottonwood Rescue to a 5 car collission on Highway 231 South near Smithville Road.

At 6:30 PM one Rehobeth Ambulance transported one patient, non emergency, to southeast Health and two patients, trauma alert to Southeast Health.

ALEA Troopers has been dispatched to investigate the accident. The northbound lanes of traffic was turned to a two lane to get the southbound traffic moving. The accident was in the southbound lanes of traffic.

After emergency units arrived it was determined only 4 vehicles involved. Subject to change, but preliminary a sub contractor for XFINITY lost his ladder from the roof of his van. He is alleged to have stopped in the roadway to retriece his ladder.

A Toyota stopped and was struck from behind by a silver SUV, which was then struck by a Cherolet 2500 truck. The ones in the silver SUV, from Kentucky, had to be extricated.

All EMS, fire and law enforcement all worked together.

ALEA Troopers are on the scene handling the investigation.

6:42 PM   Cottonwood Rescue transported one patient, non emergency, to Flowers Hospital.
