DOTHAN – GENEVA COUNTY: Dothan Police initiated a traffic stop on a red Dodge Charger on Highway 605 just off Highway 84 West. The driver of the red Dodge Charger did not comply and took off.
The Dothan Police Officer reported speeds over 100 miles per hour and the vehicle was crossing into oncoming traffic. The vehicle was identified and reports of felony outstanding arrest warrants on the person driving the vehicle.
As the chase continued Dothan 911 reported to the units in the chase that Geneva County advised they would not extradite the subject reported to have felony arrest warrants. Dothan Police Command Staff ordered the officer in pursuit to terminate the pursuit.

An ALEA Trooper spotted the vehicle turn off Highway 605 in Taylor at a high rate of speed almost causing a traffic accident. The ALEA Trooper, unaware that Dothan Police had just been in pursuit of the vehicle, activated his blue lights and siren. And you guessed it, the subject failed to comply and took off at high rate of speeds.
The chase continued out of Houston County into Geneva County. The red Dodge Charger was at high rates of speed traveling west on Highway 52. Geneva County Sheriff Deputy Perez was nearby and assisted the ALEA Trooper.
Just before arriving in Slocomb, about Green Road, the red Dodge Charger struck a vehicle from behind. The suspect bailed on foot. ALEA Trooper Arnold sprung from his patrol vehicle and chased the suspect down on foot and took him into custody.
A firearm, clips and bullets recovered from the suspects vehicle.
Slocomb Fire – Rescue responded. The injuries were not life threatening. Slocomb Police assisted ALEA Troopers. The wreck closed HIghway 52, west and east bound traffic, for a period of time.
ALEA Troopers is in charge of the investigation. The suspect now has felony Attempting to Elude on both Houston County ( Dothan ) and Geneva County ( ALEA – Troopers ).
