HOUSTON COUNTY – ASHFORD: 7:14 PM Houston County 911 dispatched Houston County Sheriff Deputies, Ashford Police and Ashford Rescue to 12175 East U.S. Highway 84 to reports of a firearm assault. This is possible a self inflicted gunshot wound. Responding units were advised CPR is in progress.
7:24 PM Ashford Rescue and Ashford Police are arriving on the scene.
7:25 PM Houston County Sheriff Deputy on the scene. Second Houston County Sheriff Deputy on the scene.
7:27 PM/7:28 PM Houston County Sheriff Patrol Lt. Reichert is on the scene along with Ashford Police Chief Melvin Anderson.
7:29 PM Law Enforcement has one person detained at this time until they can determine exactly what has gone on.
7:44 PM Ashford Rescue has returned to service.
8:02 PM Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigator Chuck Gray responding to the scene.
8:42 PM Houston County Criminal Investigation Commander, Lt. Anthony Hatcher, is on the scene.
9:01 PM Houston County Sheriff Deputies have called for Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd to respond. There is also a natural death which Rehobeth Rescue responded to at 8:18 PM. So Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd has two death calls, one in the east side of county and one on southside of county.
