HENRY COUNTY: 4:25 PM Henry County Central 911 dispatched a motor vehicle accident, overturned, on Highway 431 just south of Henry County 41 intersection.
Henry County 41 is where the Welcome To Abbeville sign is if northbound on Highway 431 coming into Abbeville.
The accident was on the southbound side of Highway 431. A truck appeared to have swerved to left and back to the right, left the side of the road, hit the ditch on the front, flipped into the air and fliped one or more times. According to an eye witness when the truck first hit one person was ejected from the accident.
Responding to the scene, Abbeville Fire – Rescue, Headland Fire – Rescue, Abbeville Police and Henry County Sheriff Deputies.
On arrival Survival Flight was requested but later cancelled. Two persons were transported, trauma alert to Southeast Health.
Matt Hatcher, Henry County Emergency Management Director responded. It was determined the accident was outside the city limits of Headland and ALEA – Troopers were requested. ALEA – Trooper Aaron Sanders responded and was in charge of the accident investigation.
After the injured was transported and fireman were checking the wreckage the found a puppy. The puppy appeared to be okay and not injured. A Abbeville Volunteer Fireman was taking care of the puppy.
Henry County Sheriff Captain Elkins responded and was on the scene.
