HOUSTON COUNTY: In 1987 Robert Byrd was elected Houston County Coroner. Byrd sought the office of Coroner when the incumbent did not seek re-election.
Since 1987 and until January 2027 Robert Byrd has served as Houston County Coroner. Byrd has decided it is time to retire as Houston County Coroner.
Endorsed by Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, Kendall Glover is seeking Houston County Coroner post. A low paid and demanding job, Coroner is considered part time, but full time on call. The following is an example of the demands on the Houston County Coroner:
Sunday the Houston County Coroner was called at 1:22 AM to a death.
Sunday the Houston County Coroner was called at 7:24 PM to a death.
Monday the Houston County Coroner was called at 4:24 PM to a death.
Kendall Glover has accepted the challenge. The Criminal Investigators in law enforcement said they all will work with Kendall Glover in partnership in death investigations as they have 40 year incumbent Robert Byrd.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza has never endorsed anyone until this election and has fully endorsed Kendall Glover as Houston County Coroner.
