DOTHAN:      The Dothan Traffic Signal Division was up today, Sunday. at 5 AM restriping the roadway, installing and fixing traffic signals, placing stop sticks and installing new signs.

Dothan City Manager Randy Morris ordered the changes to East Main Street, at Oates Street intersection to the six lane.

If you travel this way, the first several days DO NOT TAKE Main Street, traveling east or west if you do not have spare time to get to work.

TRAVELING EAST FROM FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH TOWARDS SOUTHEAST HEALTH

As you approach Oates Street intersection, traveling east ( from First Baptist Church towards Southeast Health ), the right lane has stop sticks and you MUST TURN RIGHT.

The middle lane is straight. As you cross Oates Street, still traveling east, it is down to one lane of traffic. As you approach the six lane at Museum Street, the road opens to six lanes.

TRAVELING WEST FROM SOUTHEAST HEALTH TOWARDS FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH

If you come off the six lane at Museum Street, SLOW DOWN. The three lanes of west bound traffic funnels to only one lane of traffic.

As you pass Foster Street the road widens to two lanes of traffic as you approach Oates Street intersection. Other than pot holes, the road opens back into two lanes traveling west.

OATES STREET, TRAVELING SOUTH, FROM TROY STREET INTERSECTION, SOUTH TO MAIN STREET INTERSECTION

If traveling south  on Oates. after you pass Troy Street, in front of Houston County Courthouse, the far right lane has stop sticks. You must turn right at Main and Oates, going south.
