COTTONWOOD:     Reports to RSN on tonights Cottonwood Town Council Meeting. The meeting was opened with Mayor Van Granger and members of the Cottonwood Town Council going into executive session with Attorney Press Register. While Register stated they expected 15 minutes it was some 22 minutes.

The Mayor and Council returned to the meeting with no mention of what took place or any motions made following the executive session. Official action can not be taken in an executive session. The Mayor and Council has to return into the open meeting and make any motions.

There was no mention of the Mayor’s actions towards volunteer members of the Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Department. No council person had the backbone to bring the item up to be discussed in an open meeting. So that pretty much sums up what the feelings are from the council towards the men and women of the Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Department.

Randy Hall is still the Fire Chief of the Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Department. However Cottonwood Mayor Van Granger has removed the Chief’s son and wife from the department and tresspassed them from the department. And the reasons is no threats of any kind, just because at city hall, not the fire department, they told the Mayor what he could do with the check. And that has hurt the Mayor’s feelings.

The City of Dothan stopped a man from coming into the Dothan Civic Center. It is reported to have cost the City of Dothan around $ 89,000.00 because they can not stop the man from the Dothan Administrative Offices. And Dothan had more grounds to do so then what Cottonwood Mayor Van Granger has in his actions.

This City Council and Mayor are forcing the Cottonwood Fire Chief and his family to take legal action that will cost the City of Cottonwood money. So remember that Citizens!

RSN has video and will get it uploaded tomorrow.
