DALEVILLE: Daleville Director of Public Safety – Police Chief John Crawford has announced an arrest in the July 8, 2025 Firearm Assault.
On July 8, 2025 officers with the Daleville Police Department responded to a reported gunshot victim in the area of Spruce Street. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the back. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital where he was later released.
Following an interview with the victim, Daleville Police Criminal Investigators were able to identify the crime scene in the 200 block of Lakeview Street. A canvassing of the area led to the discovery of video footage, which identified the suspect vehicle involved in the incident.
Through further investigation, law enforcement officers identified 22 year old Keomonte Crawford and a 17 year old juvenile as the primary suspects. Both individuals were located and brought to Daleville Police Department for questioning. After conducting a thorough investigation, both Keomonte Crawford and the juvenile were arrested and charged with Robbery in the 2nd degree, Shooting Into An Occupied Vehicle, and Attempted Murder.
Following their arrests both suspects were transported to the Dale County Jail.
