TAYLOR:      The Taylor City Council members held their regularly scheduled meeting tonight at 6:00 PM. Well, let me correct myself, the Taylor City Council members that bothered to show up, held their regular scheduled meeting tonight. Taylor Mayor Robert Lamb and Councilman Kelly were AWOL at tonights meeting.

One item brought before the council was installing steps on a water department truck. Taylor Councilman John Milner made a point the Council decided on spending on steps but not on who the Taylor City Attorney is. Acting Mayor Kenny Thompson replied, great point taking of whih he could not argue with. Councilman Milner was referring to Trant Bullard was interviewed by Taylor Mayor Robert Lamb and Municipal Court Magistrate Ann Baxter. None of the council members knew of the interview until the hire was brought before the council. Councilman Brandon Martin told the fellow councilman he called Attorney Steve Etheridge to see why he was not remaining as legal council for Taylor. Mr. Etheredge was not aware he was not and replied the Mayor wanted him at every council meeting. Etheredge said that was not needed and would cost Taylor a lot of unnecessary money. And that was a point of the council. No motion or decision was made.

The meeting was adjourned.

POINT – Any council or commission can only vote during the regular or emergency meeting. Once adjourned the council or commission can not vote in an Administrative Meeting. The Adminstrative Meeting is where the council or commission discuss items, ask for more clarification or tell staff to move to the next regular scheduled meeting.

Administrative Meeting the council adjourned the regular meeting and called to order the Adminstrative Meeting. The council discussed a privige of the floor policy where citizens are allowed to speak at a meeting. The council members present was cautious on a policy to restrict the public from talking. Several points were made and the item was moved to the next regular meeting which is May 3rd.

A citizen presented the members present tonight, and presented to the City Clerk a petition for recall of the Mayor of Taylor, The City Clerk told the council she will contact the Probate Judge tomorrow and see what the city needs to do. The Mayor, Robert Lamb was not present for the meeting. Acting Mayor Kenny Thompson was told by the City Clerk at 5:53 PM the Mayor was not going to be there tonight and the meeting started at 6:00 PM. The Taylor City Council has the Mayor and5 council members. The petition to recall the Mayor is signed by 3 of the 5 sitting members of Taylor City Council. This item was presented in the Administrative Meeting where no action can be taken unless a special meeting is called or until May 3, 2026.

Meeting adjourned.
