DOTHAN:   8:59 PM  Dothan 911 dispatched a structure fire in the 200 block of Campbellton Highway, ACROSS from Hunt’s Restaurant. Dothan 911 reported smoke and flames visible. Multiple Dothan Fire Engine Companies, Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Police dispatched.

9:02 PM   Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ) arrived on the scene followed by Dothan Fire Egine 1 ( Central ). Reported an abandoned house where homeless people stayed, smoke and flames visible. A working structure fire.

9:05 PM    Dothan Fire Engine 10 ( West Main Street ), Dothan Fire Truck 1 ( Central ) arrived on the scene.

9:06 PM   Dothan Fire Battalion Chief 2, Braswell,  arrived on the scene.

9:08 PM    Fire on all sides, partial roof collapse. Dothan Fire Battalion Chief announced defensive fire. Fireamn are hampered on back side search due to brush on the back side.

9:09 PM    Dothan Fire Rehab truck has arrived on the scene. Dothan Fire Truck 1 reports fully involved.

9:10 PM    Fire hydrant water established 3 minutes ago.

NOTE:  8:41 PM Dothan Fire Engine Company 4 ( Southside ) was on a medical emergency when call dispatched.  

9:11 PM    The Safety Officer reports need a collapse zone. Walls are beginning to sway. Floor is collapsing. Tape is being set up for collapse zone. Dothan Fire Battalion Chief Braswell makes sure everyone on the scene is aware to maintain a collapse zone. The front has already collapsed.

9:15 PM     Dothan 911 ask for fireman update. Dothan Fire Department as been on scene for 10 minutes. Dothan Fire Battalon Chief Braswell said accountability for all fireman on the scene and this is a defensive attack only operation.

9:20 PM    In a unrelated to this fire, Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Fire Engine Company 5 ( Eastside ) to the 200 block of South Park. A single residential structure with a smoke odor. Dothan Fire Engine Company 5 reports nothing visiible.

9:21 PM    Dothan Fire Safety advised the west end blazing back up. Still have fire involvement, can not penetrate, and working on it.

9:22 PM    A third line being pulled from Engine 2 to hit the front of the structure.

9:22 PM    Houston County 911 is dispatching Gordon Volunteer Fire, Pansey Volunteer Fire and Ashford Volunteer Fire to reports of a structure fire at 279 Leslie Street in Gordon. Unrelated to this fire. Ashford Rescue also dispatched. Smoke odor and chemical smell.

9:28 PM     Safety reports a interrior wall has just fell.

9:29 PM     Outside temperature is 36 degrees according to Time and Temperature, 334-794-8441.

9:32 PM       Dothan Fire Engine 5 ( Eastside ) is back in service from 200 block of South Park.

9:33 PM       Gordon Fire Chief Justin McCallister is on the scene on Leslie Street in Gordon.

9:34 PM        Gordon Fire Chief Justin McCallister advised everyone to downgrade response. Ashford Volunteer Fire and Pansey Volunteer Fire can return to service. Have Ashford Fire Chief Jimmy Posey continue. No Houston County Sheriff Deputy needed on the scene at Leslie Street in Gordon.

9:37 PM       Ashford Rescue is back in service and cancelled response to Leslie Street in Gordon.

9:39 PM       Engine 2 is doing air bottle swap.

9:41 PM       In an unrelated Dothan Fire Engine Company 6 ( Napier Field Road ) on a medical emergency on Woodcliff.

9:42 PM       Ashford Fire Chief Jimmy Posey has arrived on the scene on Leslie Street in Gordon.

9:43 PM       DALE COUNTY – Coroner John Cawley and Deputy Coroner David Grubbs have arrived at Coroner’s Office after a call where a person has been deceased for several days and was just found after a welfare check. Time of call was 8:05 PM

9:47 PM     Unless something happens ending coverage of this fire.
