OZARK: On Tuesday evening Ozark – Dale County 911 dispatched a firearm assault. Within another hour or less Ozark – Dale COunty 911 dispatched a second firearm assault.
The two firearm assaults appear unrelated to each other.
Both firearm assault victims were transported by Ozark Fire – Rescue to Dale Medical Center in Ozark. One victim was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital. The second firearm assault victim, reported to be age 15, was transported by Enterprise Rescue Helicopter to a Mobile Hospital trauma Center.
Ozark Police and Dale County Sheriff Deputies responded to the scenes. Ozark – Dale County 911 Director Paula Simmons, who was off duty, responded back to the 911 Center to assist. The 20th Judicial Circuit District Attorney, Kirke adams, was notified of the two firearm assaults.
Dale County Coroner John Cauley, Deputy Coroner Adam Bruhn and Deputy Coroner David Grubbs responded to the scene and Dale Medical Center. The bodies will be transported to the Montgomery Division of Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
This evening the second firearm assault victim, reported to be 15 years old, passed away at the Mobile Hospital.
Ozark Police Criminal Investigation Division is in charge of the investigation.
