WIREGRASS:       Today was the day that most municipalities swore in Mayors and Councilman. In some municipalities, new public servants were sworn in and some were recycled for another four years.

In Midland City former Mayor JoAnn Grimsley took office of Mayor. Grimsley was defeated last election but after four years she returned to the Mayor’s Office. The new Midland City administration got rid of former Dothan Police Chief John White as City Attorney and recycle Ozark Attorney Bob Brogden as City Attorney. Brogden goes back to the Joe Bob Parker days and has been/has not been CIty Attorney for Midland City depending on who the Mayor is.

In Hartford, the Mayor and Town Council were sworn into office. The council was attempting to select Mayor Pro Tempore and there was a tie vote. It was settled in an old fashion way by drawing of straws. Councilman Rich Brannon is Mayor Pro Tempore for Hartford.

In Ashford they have a new Mayor and some new Council Members. Blake Rosenkoetter was sworn in as Mayor of Ashford and several new council members. The council selected Councilman Gary Gibson as Mayor Pro Tempore. All was calm in Ashford and is expected to flow smoothly and businesslike.

In Cowarts, now that Greg Odom is Mayor, perhaps he has legally changed the locks and could get into City Hall. The new Mayor and council took the oath of office. Only two council members returned and they rest are new council members. Odom was a councilman before defeating Randy Rowland as Mayor. The rumor mill has been several employees were quitting when Rowland went out but unknown who is remaining and who is leaving.

Within 45 minutes of taking Oath of Office in Taylor the new Mayor had already stepped in a pile of dog poop. Mayor Robert Lamb took the oath of office at 8:00 AM and by 8:45 AM Police Chief James Brazier was being forced to walk home. RSN gave him a ride home. Mayor Robert Lamb took James Brazier into the office with Magistrate Ann Baxter a police officer, not City Attorney but City Prosecutor Gary Maxwell and began questioning Chief James Brazier. Well Mayor Robert Lamb did not know what he was doing and Brazier refused to answer questions without an attorney present.

Lamb is attempting to say that he was having to take care of matters that former Mayor Billy Snell would not handle. But Mayor Snell refused to terminate Chief James Brazier just because Mayor Elect Robert Lamb wanted Chief Brazier terminated. Snell is a successful business owner who has placed the City of Taylor in great financial condition during his eight years in office. Now the members of Taylor City Council are concerned that Mayor Robert Lamb has placed the City of Taylor in the possibility of severe legal actions based on the Mayor’s actions in his first 45 minutes of office.

While Mayor Lamb denies that his actions against Chief Brazier were because he wanted Tim Miller as Police Chief, who was recently forced to resign from Taylor, Miller was present for the swearing in. And Miller did not leave until after 10:30 AM.

In Ozark Alabama, a terrific ceremony where there was joy, positive attitudes, excitement with the new Mayor, Charles Ward taking over and the council members. The venue for the swearing in was packed and everyone is looking to the future with anticipation of great things to come.

In Enterprise, Mayor William ( Bill ) Cooper was sworn in again as Mayor. When former Mayor Kenneth Boswell was selected by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey to head ADECA and resigned as Mayor of Enterprise, William ( Bill ) Cooper was Mayor Pro Tempore and moved up to Mayor. He has served several terms and done a great job.

RSN does not have all of the municipalities. Every four years the estimates are around 37% of the police chief’s across the state will be terminated. This is not good because being a law enforcement officer is dangerous enough. And then to have your living snatched from you and your family just because new people are elected, that is not a good thing. But as I say, law enforcement officers do not wear the bullet proof vest as much for the bad guys but as for the fellow public servants and those elected to office.

One not in law enforcement but has had 20 years of total loyalty to his boss is receiving a royal screw job this week. And I mean total loyalty but that loyalty was one sided. It is sad and speaks about the boss’ character but was expected.

Not in anyway talking about me, but I do not trust more than 3 in public office or positions. One lied to me this past week not knowing that I already knew the truth. And in the near future I will expose him for his lies. But these public servants elected and department heads have no loyalty to anyone but to themself and will damage you and attempt to destroy you in anyway possible. I never think any of them really like me so when the knife hits me it is expected. But some who have given their loyalty are finding out the loyalty they have given has resulted in a knife directly in their heart. I expect no less because  I have been around them since 1977. I take them at face value, which is very cheap and realize, they are two faced!

There will ne no shortage of drama in the future.

With the above comments I made, they are not about myself. I laugh at some of their stupidity and how they think I am stupid. While I might not be as good as some investigators, I am pretty well going to know the answer to my question before I ever ask it. And when I write a article, while some think I do not know what I am talking about, it is a pretty safe bet that I have already checked it out and know more than you think.

So to those taking office, remember this, DO NOT LIE TO ME! Because I am going to fact check you and probably have fact checked you before I asked. And one public servant who just recently started his second term should have known that but he forgot it, LOL!!!

And I am sorry to the one who has gotten royally screwed. But remain loyal to the people you serve, as being the public.
