GENEVA | RICKEY STOKES NEWS

Geneva’s own Kiera Howell is headed to Hawaii after officially earning a spot in the Top 30 on American Idol.

Howell shared the exciting news during a Facebook Live following the final episode of Hollywood Week, thanking supporters across Geneva and the Wiregrass for standing behind her throughout the competition.

“It means the world to me, I cannot wait to see what happens in Hawaii,” Howell said during her live announcement.

The 16-year-old Geneva High School student first captured national attention with her powerful audition earlier this season. Since then, she has continued to impress judges and viewers alike, advancing through each round of the ABC singing competition.

With Hollywood Week now complete, Howell is preparing for the next stage of the show in Hawaii, where contestants will compete for a coveted spot in the live shows.

Support continues pouring in from her hometown and surrounding communities as she moves one step closer to the national spotlight — and potentially making Wiregrass history.
